Yup, that is what the bag looks like from Williams. They do put labels on the bags but they usually wind up peeling off. I don't care as I can tell the starter from the layer and the whole wheat is easy to tell before I ever open the bag so I do not care if the label is on or not.
Sounds like the same place and the prices are very reasonable. Less than $11 a bag. I think the whole wheat is $8.50 and I mix more into my laying mash than what they put in.

I suppose it is good feed. Here is a photo of some of eggs I collected the other day. There is about 20 dz and I had to wash some of them and then carton everything up as they were all sold. Most days I seldom get to put them into flats like this as I bring them in and start putting in cartons right away and only set ones that need washed in flats but this person sells from her store so I had to candle, wash weigh and then carton them after I spent the day collecting.

I will say Leirob007 what your roo is very ver beautiful and such a friendly, well behaved gentleman. I absolutely would not mind having one or two RIR's one day when I finally get some land and can have a menagerie .

I love my RIR girls. They have always been very nice. Now, Dixiebeast does not like hers. She says they are so mean and my neighbor says the same thing about theirs. But mine have always been good girls and I enjoy them and their big brown eggs. I can slip my hand right under them to retrieve eggs and I never see them fussing among the other hens.
I do not care for the bossy Barred Rocks. I am now down to one and Alice will live here for the rest of her life because I told the previous owner I woudl not sell her or get rid of her. But that big old girl reminds me quite often why I got rid of teh others. She slaps the other girls around and has to have her own way all the time and getting an egg from underneath her earns me a peck every time. She only lays about 3 eggs a week now but still, she is bad tempered. Could be the way she was raised though.

I have many breeds n my free range flock that are great egg layers and beautiful to look at as well as very friendly. This is the first year in 7 years that I have not ordered in chicks. I have hatched way too many through the winter and am still culling out what I don't need and then bought 75 new layers from a friend when she was getting out of it so I am good to go. I am back up over 400 birds again and am so tired of watering and feeding, cleaning brooder, watering, watering....have I mentioned I hate watering? LOL

Oh, and anyone that wants to see a HUGE gorgeous roo should see Kris and Robert's! Their Wyandotte roo is the nicest fella I have seen in a long time. Very impressive guy and absolutely delightful to be around but then the Foley's don't sell no junk!

And I am now going back outside to do more watering before it gets any hotter.

I posted a few days ago that I would be passing through SC on I-20 to I-95 North tomorrow. I still am. I'm still interested in English Orpingtons...Black, Blue, Splash, if anyone has hatching eggs or chicks. I can go out of my way within a reasonable distance for them. Yes...my reds are EVIL I say...EVIL ! Great layers and great with people but will literally EAT any newcomers...but my one Barred and my Orps get along with everyone...My reds even try to pick fights with cooped birds?? 3 I raised here from day old and 3 I bought as pullets...I dont know what thier problem is...

That's fantastic if its the same place. I liked how it was less processed - it looks like actual food. (Versus the green pellets with the occasional identifiable grain piece in it.) I'm trying to quit eating processed foods myself, so why feed it to the hens?

That's a whole lotta eggs! Is that from one day? I'm kind of worried about what to do with 25 hens worth of eggs. We LOVE eggs, but I figure that's 7-14 dozen a week. I guess I have until next spring to figure it out.

And those are just chickens, that does not include all the duck eggs I collect or the small bantam eggs I collect every day, nor all the Guinea eggs from the free rangers and breeding pens. But I prefer to sell hatching eggs over eating eggs any day of the week! Less work, more fun.

You should come up and see the farm some time.
Oh, and on your 25 chicks coming.....you will probably have 2 to 3 roos in the bunch and they will probably send you 27 instead of 25 in case any happen to not make it. Once you figure out what are roos......and that will be obvious within 3to 4 weeks after you get them, plan to pair up with girl chicks and sell in pairs or trios on Craigs List or somewhere. You won't have to worry about all 25....er, 27, for long. By the end of it all you may only have about 18 to 20, depending on how you sell them. Make some money back and cut your numbers down a bit.

Amy I just googled Williams Feed Store. I think I'll give them a try the next time I need food. What's the best to buy for my Layers and for my chicks? When i first started raising chickens two years ago, Feed has went up 4 dollars for a 50lb bag at TSC. And Williams isn't really that far from my house. Nice drive through the country.

So since we are talking about feed.. Anyone recommend any mills in the Columbia area? Or any good dealers of feed besides TSC? Every time I go by the one out in Lexington, I want to hit the rude teenagers working there. Not to mention they only ever seem to have the smallest bags possible of chick start. Thanks.

I'm RIGHT there with you(but in Spartanburg) although there is one girl that's super nice the other ones are just I don't give a d-mn"just pay and leave so I can get back on my cell phone"...I never ask for help I just go look for anything myself. But I will say this they FINALLY started putting their pine shaving in a dry place. THank GoodNEss!!!!!

Amy--I feel like I missed somethimg--is there a place in Newberry to buy decent(better than tsc) feed? I am there almost every day but don't get out your way very often. Also I love my one BR. It is my friendliest chicken. My 3 week old babies have to be chased down to be put up but my BR comes right to me!

I tried to take pictures of the chicks tonight. They did not exactly cooperate.
I love the colors in this EE. Tge dark one is George(3 weeks old).

I put the baby down to try to get pictures and my bigger chicks came running. I think they thought I was giving them a treat!
