South Florida options for duck adoption

Hi everyone! I had two mallard ducks yesterday (golden and white layers). One died overnight, which was a bit sudden and shocking.

I now have a single female duck and I don't want her to be stressed and lonely all by herself.

We don't have too many rescues out here, but I'll be calling some places tomorrow. I'm wondering if anyone in the Miami-Dade/homestead area has any female ducks that I could adopt!

Right now I'm planning on watching my current duck for 5 days (just in case if the first duck died from an illness I want to make sure she isn't ill too) before I bring in a partner for her, but I need to start coordinating soon so she's not alone for so long!

If anyone has any leads, I appreciate it!

I sometimes find ducks on local Facebook poultry groups or Craig’s like castportpony said. Good idea to watch her for illness. In the meantime, you can also give her a mirror and a stuffed animal. I bought some safety glass mirrors for whenever an animal has to be alone. If you can’t find a duck stuffed animal, any kind will do.

Hi ! Thank you for your response! Yesterday I actually found a farm in homestead that had pet ducks. Instead of bringing on a companion for her, I chose to give her to them so she can have a flock.

That's great! Can you give me the info for the farm you found please because , I also need to find a permanent home for my duckling. I took her in as she had a broken foot and was not going to survive. I repaired her foot and now she needs to go Live her full duck life with companions. Thank you!
