OMG Terrie, I laughed so loudly when I read this. My husband HAD to know what I was reading on BYC! I told him and he roared as well!

Thanks for the great laugh.

My brother would get mad at me when I didn't understand!! He'd say (when he used to live here) 'you oughtta come over for dinner tomorrow'. Then he would get mad when I showed up around 5.... 'I thought you were coming over for dinner?? We waited for you till 1 o'clock?' Um, excuse me, but didn't you grow up in IN with me?? Lunch is at noon goofy!

And dinner is the noon meal in a formal sense. As in, you have people over for dinner after church. Dinner involves a lot of cooking, and is a sit down meal at the table. But if you are at work or school, or just at home having sandwiches, your noon meal is lunch.

Supper is the evening meal.

Ok a few of y'alls posts have made me remember a few things that confuse even some of us southerners at school.
Heels=Hills
Memaw=Grandma (I never understood this one cuz Grandma is Nana at our house)
Hounds can be any type of dog
Does it strike anyone else as wierd that Pork Chops are breakfast? I always thought they were lunch.
Goff = golf
65mph is NOT fast and people WILL pass you!

I'm sure I'll think of something else, but until then enjoy.
