Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Congrats Carolyn. Can't wait to tell my son.
Good morning all
Well I had a great weekend.woke up early Sat. And went to King of Prussia in PA for an Artisian and home show for period homes. Of course I'm screaming at the GPS cause it won't take the address. When I get there , the conventioncenter had been taken over by a casino and moved into the basement. I get there an hour early so the slots were calling to me. Signed up for a players club card and they gave me 20 bucks in slot play. I turned that into $400. How cool is that. I never win. I guess it was my other " identity" .
The show was really nice but now I want soapstone counters and sink and a new door.
Instead of driving home I continued on to Adamstown. I haven't been there in years. Still one of the best kept secrets for antiques. The whole town is just dotted with shops. Crashed at the comfort inn for the night and got up super early on Sunday to shop and shop.
Someone told me about an antique show on the way home so the heck with GPS....
Just breezed home with no traffic to speak of..
I really think its my new identity 'cause I never have weekend that go so smoothly.
Mags ,the whole way through Staten island I was screaming out your name....
Did I say I had a large dipped cone from DQ...the best
I wish you let me know! I live only 3 minutes from the Outerbridge. As your driving over the middle heading north I am on your right side in the wooded area close to the beach. Could almost throw a rock at my street.

The PA talk is making me want to go to Lancaster and antique shops. We used to go there when the boys were small and do the train museum, Harley, Amusement park and just hang out. I love PA and we've at times thought of moving but the commute would be bad for the dh. And expensive now as well.

I need a trip/vacation so bad. We are just so glued to this house for now.

I am posting the above picture of the Arlington Inn in Vermont to tell you all that Bobby and I will be getting married there on April 18. We're going to elope, just the two of us (and maybe Laura and Mike). We're very excited about it, although it feels a little weird that I'm going to be a wife again after 26 years!

How absolutely splendid!! Mazel Tov, Mazel Tov!! Wishing you both a long and happy life together.

Mags next time I plan on going I'll give you a shout.
It was all very impromptu .id love the company. I do go on the cheap though. Good diner food ,DQ for dessert and up at dawn and shop and shop.

Christina and Suzanne, I called the woman in Jersey twice and haven't heard back.i hope she gets in touch soon.
Christina, when are you going to be at the garden show ?

Sounds like fun to me. How are all the peeps doing?
The 12 in the brooder are being very naughty and are growing like little weeds. They all have that gawky feathers are coming in look going for them which is particularly hilarious on the polish.

I can go to the show any of the 4 days. I am thinking about sunday so I can catch a lecture on canning. I might go more than one day.

Hey guys, sorry I was MIA, I had a bad cold and had hands full with the kids. Everyone has cabin fever I think. Today was so nice after all the rain, the dog ran for ages at the beach park, the hens were allowed free range for a few hours, and the kids were even happy for a few minutes, lol!

I am happy/sad to report that we have an accepted offer on a house in Flower Mound. We're doing inspections this week and closing sometime in April. Not leaving until late June though. CarolinaIslands is going to take our coop and our four standard size ladies, but I'm still looking for a good home for the bantam twins. Part of me just keeps hoping against all hope that I can take them with me but it's really not going to happen if I'm honest. I'd love to have everyone to my house here in Westchester before it's no longer mine. I will send you all home with garden seeds, chicken equipment, possibly a bantam or two.... also it would be a big help if we could break down the coop together. I have tools but no skills as it were. Right now any weekend in April except for the first one works for me, if we meet up on the weekend of the 13th we can "shower" Suzanne with useful things like, oh I don't know, skeins of yarn.... extra coupons for Michael's... sexy underwear...

We could actually have a meeting of the northern folks (Rockland, Orange County) and Long Island peeps. Let me know if this works for you at all or if it's just plain crazy.

XOXO -

Edited to add - this is what it was like at the dog park today (sort of):

Loved the video! I felt that way, too. So nice to see the sun.

Forget the sexy underwear - I'll crochet my own! I work on Sundays from 11-1, but not the 14th, so that weekend works for me. I don't need to be "showered", just need a visit with my "peeps"!
