Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Eh, still the same. Everyone is choking at work, and they say it's allergies. I think it's just working in a filthy, dirty environment.
We'll see in a few days. It couldn't be the beginning of the holidaze stress. And next week is my 50th birthday. UGH!
Just trying to deal with everything....in the darkness!
Also have a wake to go to tonite. Yuk.
Trying to be positive. A friend from high skool looked me up last week on facebook. Nice hearing from him, I kind of gave up on all my male friends since getting married, but I told DH about it, and he was cool with it. Yay!
Now we need to catch up on the past 25-30 years. At least we both have T-mobile, so all calls will be.... FREE!

The big 5uh-oh. I still can't believe I passed it. In my head, I'm 16. Too bad my butt and my brain are 52!

Sorry to hear you're both unwell and going to a wake. Not a good day...

Al, still thinking about Jack. How are you and the Wonder Dog feeling today?

Wait till you hit 56, Suzanne. That's when the real fun begins!

We picked up Jack a half hour ago and he is about the same as yesterday. He did not eat at the vet's today. He ate a little with us last night and we will try to give him some food tonight. The doctor is gong to do another creatinine test tomorrow and see if the level is still coming down. I guess we will know what to do when we get the results. This has been a bit of a roller coaster.

It doesn't really matter what age we are, after 40, it seems everything is falling apart!
Or forgotten.... or misplaced... or sagging...

Definitely forgotten. Why did I come in this room??

Here's a picture of the flock. And yes, Roberta, that big red girl in the front is Aggie!

So here's the problem. The chicks (who, as you can see from the picture, are not that small anymore) have been squeezing through the picket fence, which has pretty small spaces between the slats. We can't decide if we want to go to the trouble and expense of adding chicken wire, or just keep an eye on them for another couple of weeks til they're too fat to get through.

Chicken wire would be useful if more babies are in our future, which Roosterman seems to think is likely. (I can't figure out if it's because he wants them or because he knows I'm going to ninja them in!)

Comments?

Morning everyone,

Sad news today. We had to put Jack down. He haven't eaten for us last night and this morning and his eyes were beginning to bulge. I knew he was at the end because I let him out this morning to do his business and when he hadn't come back in after 20 minutes. I went out to look where he could be in the Yard. He was tucked in under a bush and growled when I tried to get him out. He was letting us know it was time. He went peacefully with us at his side.

He was a great dog and we will miss him a lot.
