I hope your coop turns out great.
I asked my brother if he would build me a coop. He didn't say no but he then told me he drives past some place on his way upstate to my cousins that sells coops. I'm taking that as a please just buy one and don't make me build it lol !!
My friends boyfriend said he would build me one but I'm not sure of his carpentry skills and I don't want an ugly coop. I have to pester my brother some more or spend a grand on a coop

I made oatmeal for my girls they wouldn't eat it, they like mashed up hard boiled eggs and yogurt and Cheerios though. Oh and freeze dryed meal worms but I'm not buying them anymore cause I gag every time I open the bag. Ick!

Karen, tell yourself they're plastic. That's what I do. Now I can reach right in and throw out a handful without gagging.

I bought Bobby "Building Chicken Coops for Dummies" to inspire him. It's a great project for us. We sit over breakfast and talk about the plans. Once your brother gets started, he'll love it. Get him a gift card to pay for the supplies. Great motivator. I gave Bobby a gift card so he could just shop for what he needed. Needless to say, it's all gone now!

(When we were first dating, we took down a shed in the yard - which would have made a great coop. Great memories, except for the time I hit myself in the forehead and he came over to find me with blood running down my face!)

I think I'm going to pull the trigger and order 6+ Lavender Orpington hatching eggs and an incubator. I'll set it up in the class and use it as a "hands off" science project. Then I'll just keep a hen and give away the rest. Or I guess I could sell a breeding pair. Can you breed siblings? North of the Mason Dixon line, that is...

Chick poop STINKS. So much more than parot poop.
Im glad they will eventually live outside.
Maybe it's the food? Manapro chick starter?
