Meet Snow White, Snowball, Alvin and Bluebell.







Last but not least is my little
chicken guardian...... Dory...... 9 years and a old forever puppy weighing in at 7 lbs. She is an Affenpinscher.Takes her job very seriously and lets me know when the birds are in danger or unhappy. The squirrels in particular are just terrified of her, butterflies as well.

Now I have wood chucks out back and those buggers are bigger than she is. That has me worried.

Oh Mags they are soooooo cute! Do Silkies have more fluff than regular chicks?

Glad to hear everyone survived the storm, scary stuff. We just have a blanket of humidity and occasional rain here.

Oh and one of the eggs J. Lo was sitting on was smushed this morning. The other one has a crack in it... I suspect a combo of two hens sitting on them and no development will bring this little experiment to an end soon. Hopefully J.Lo will break her broody spell soon, she's filthy and I need to give her a bath.

Yes Heather, silkies have more fluff, mostly on their heads/faces when tiny like this. I love the way they look with their little top hats on. And there are bearded and non bearded varieties. Bearded having lots more facial feathers.
Here to compare is my non-bearded silkie SnowCone.
The 2 babies are of the bearded type.

Oh! This is so neat to see your babies! We haven't hatched yet, but I think an incubator is in our future.

I think I need new glasses....as I read their names I saw Snow White, Snowball, Alvin and Blueball...huh? Had to go back and retread that last name!
