Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Hey so where is the Queens Fair exactly? We visited the Queens Zoo yesterday and it was really pretty and cute, the girls and I had a great time. They want to go back already. Is this fair on the World's Fairgrounds?

Alternatively, if we don't make it to Queens I might take everyone to the Hawkfest at the Greenwich Nature Center instead. Migratory birds and all, supposed to be a fun activity.

Sorry to hear about everyone's fear of flying; I always take solace in statistics, namely that you are more likely to die in a car crash than a plane crash. But oddly enough that doesn't seem to calm some people.....

Just remember that the pilot wants to get home as much as you do.

It's a beautiful thing to surprise your son, as long as your husband remembers that he'll be fine. Do it for love if no other reason.

Yes, Queens is this weekend.
I'll be there Fri. to start coopng in. Can't forget the wedding Fri nite.

Back Sat. am to coop in the rest, and Sunday afternoon to squash it all into my car.
Not sure about the "me" time, walking around and having fun.
PM me for tickets, will try to accommodate everyone as best I can.
Don't worry about meeting up, I can just leave your name at the entrance.

Still haven't started bathing 30 birds

yet.

Worried about rain.
Can you put them in a shower all at once? That sounds sort of like a set-up for a Gary Larson cartoon though.

Thanks for posting that. Of course I'm too busy yakking to do it.
Or is it the thought of driving thru the carwash, chickens strapped to my car....

It's on Little neck parkway in glen oaks, Queens. From the Long Island Expressway or Northern state (grand central) go to little neck pkwy south-it's about a half mile-1 mile down the road on the right hand side. You can't miss it! (Usually my kids have their eyes peeled for the sheep they have pastured by the fence.

) Once you see the school on your right (playground) it's just about right there. Nowhere near the World fair grounds.

I'll probably be there Sunday, if not Saturday as well. Not sure what time-with football and all. (the kids games) hopefully I'll get lucky and have 2 early games! I can't wait!! Roberta, if I'm there after the kids games, on Sunday I'll shuttle some birds home for ya, so you can see to drive...

My electric has been flickering on and off all day with these winds. I hate that. The chickens ran back into the pen this morning-those gusts are scary!

I think there's only rain today and tomorrow, hopefully there won't be any rain the rest of the week, so your birds can be all shiny and fluffy!

Ok, I need some advice and maybe some info. A guy in my husbands Firehouse just recently bought a cow. For meat. All in all it cost him 2.15 cents a pound after processing. (And cows are BIG) I have an industrial freezer, and I think I'd be ok with it since I would ever MEET the cow (I have a deep affection for cows).

Now my husband wants to do this. How the heck would I find out about this stuff? My family eats ALOT of meat, so essentially it would save me tons of money, but I have no idea about this stuff. I told him to just ask the guy (um, hello? Doesn't that make sense?) I'm no so sure there are any beef cattle for sale on Long Island, and I'm really doubtful there's any processors!
Anyone? I'm trying to figure out a way to fill my freezer for winter before side work runs dry and along with it-the extra money...

Why do I feel like a bad person?
