Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Here are two Barred Rocks, one with wings, one without. This picture makes the winged one much cuter. I tend to lean toward un-winged. But maybe I'm influenced by the extra work!
suzanne, i really like the wings version best, it balances the chick out. so adorable!!!!!!!!!

I am located in Laurel Hollow in Nassau County.. I buy my supplies in Hicksville at Chestnut Vale. They are the closest to me. Also. newbie. Got my girls Nov. 15th. They are approx. 12 weeks.
Welcome Harborview Hens!

Wow, they are cute! My vote is for the winged one. You're very talented, Suzanne!

Those are just too cute! I like both styles very much and plan to buy some from you. Do you know what prices you will be asking? I'm dying to see what else you will be selling. Any other pics?

Thanks for the reply. I got 5 from Clark Farm in CT. One of each of Buff Orpington, Light Brahma and Speckled Sussex. I was supposed to have an aracauna and an Australorp but ended up with two Ameacaunas. I don't mind at all because they are so distinctly different in looks and have nice personalities. They all eat out of my hands now although the sussex is still a bit shy. I am enjoying them immensely. If I figure it out, will post some pics someday. Can't do it from my iPad but may need to go to the laptop instead.

Does anyone have a sense of what my avatar picture is? she was supposed to be an australorp but apparantly seems to be an ameracucana. Ivy has the ear tufts and brown colored feather are coming in all over. Her feathers on the saddle are rounded. She is approx. 12 weeks. I am hoping that she is not a rooster.

Welcome to this wonderful place.

Glad to hear there's another Nassau County backyard-chickenkeeper. I'm in Freeport, with two hens and two pullets. Like you, and several other local chickenkeepers, I get my chicken supplies from Chestnut Vale; they deliver the feed to me; bring it right into the ChickArena for me so I never have to lift those heavy bags.

Keeping chickens is a lot of fun; Enjoy!
