I like the winged ones but I also like the way they look together. Do they have 2 different crowns? You are going to do great at the show

Each one looks slightly different. Homemade is like that, I guess.

Laura's boyfriend gave me a $100 Michael's gift card for Christmas. I didn't know how much it was til I got to the register. I almost fell over!

I got some yarn to add Welsummers to the list. And went to my local fabric store to corner the market on 7/16" black shank buttons for eyes. They are surprisingly hard to find!

Thanks for the reply. I got 5 from Clark Farm in CT. One of each of Buff Orpington, Light Brahma and Speckled Sussex. I was supposed to have an aracauna and an Australorp but ended up with two Ameacaunas. I don't mind at all because they are so distinctly different in looks and have nice personalities. They all eat out of my hands now although the sussex is still a bit shy. I am enjoying them immensely. If I figure it out, will post some pics someday. Can't do it from my iPad but may need to go to the laptop instead.

If you get the Tapatalk app, it will let you add pictures to your posts using an iPad or iPhone. The app is free but you need to pay $1.99 for the photo hosting, otherwise you can only post a few pics. I love this app and use it in the car all the time when my husband is doing the driving. The only thing I can't do with it is write or view PM's.

I really admire your ability to crochet these chicks. I think they are going to sell like hot cakes! Could you post the picture on the thread Roberta started for the show? That way you can drum up some interest in advance.

Not to put any pressure on you, Suzanne.
But if you could make a few Black Copper Marans.
The QUEEN of Marans, Bev Davis herself, will be at this one.
I'll buy them and give them to her.
It's a Marans special meet.
I think I like the wings better.

Carolyn, its me Irene! The girls are growing strong and doing well. Would love to have you come by one day. We are still putting up walls, ceilings and siding. Getting the house back together. The one great distraction are the chickens. They take me to a peaceful place.

coppery heads with black bodies? I think I can do that.

I've done 3 Barred Rocks so far. Think I'll switch to the BCMs to see how they come out. Also, I'm dying to try White Crested Black Polish - black chicks with white eyelash yarn instead of red combs.

Here's the revised list:

Barred Rock
Black Copper Marans
White Crested Black Polish
Speckled Sussex
Welsummer
Buff Orpington
Rhode Island Red
White Leghorn
Black Australorp
and some Generic Yellow Chicks

To stock the etsy shop, I may do some lavender, hot pink, orange, blue, etc. More fun ones. For the conference, I thought I'd stick with more realistic colors.

I also have a pattern for some really cute mice. I was thinking of doing some Christmas mice (for next year, of course). Red with fuzzy white ears and tails and a green bow at the end of the tail. Might make cute ornaments.
