what did you plant? Hope you get some action. I've been slowly adding plants and learning loads on a hummingbird forum I joined. Have you seen any yet? I've seen 1 female and a male so far but they stayed only briefly, none have stuck around yet.

I've nothing flowering even soon. I have to go to my ledger and see exactly what I got. Between old fashioned lavender, butterfly bushes, and more you suggested I am hopefully good to go!

I don't have much flowering yet either, but I do have feeders up already, that will draw them in. It's one part sugar to four parts water.

Do you have a spot for a trellis? You can try getting major wheeler honeysuckle. That is a perennial which flowers for most of the summer. They also like cypress vine, cardinal vine and some types of morning glory but not all.

Some others include jacob cline monarda (bee balm), most salvias, agastaches, some lillies, zinnias, some cannas, fuchsias and of course loads of other plants. I am starting to add these to my garden and hoping I get one to nest nearby.

I got trumpet vine.....clematis....butterfly bushes, morning glory, lilac, fuchsia, variegated weigela so far to name a few newbies. And my usual salvia, hydrangeas, sunflowers and more. I am going to make a tree wisteria this year. It grows all over the place here and I just dug some up and will work with it all summer.

Sounds like you are off to a great start, especially with the trumpet vine. They really love that. I am trying to extend the amount of time they visit my yard so I am trying to plant flowers that bloom before and after the trumpet vine.

Last year a guy on the "green thumb is itching" thread sent me a seed pod from a trumpet vine. It was an extremely red flower. I started some of the seeds and they have their second set of leaves. I plan on planting them this weekend. I have tons of seeds left if anyone wants some. Check out the thread and look at the photos from Albert from late last summer.
Many of my flowers that are out are taking a beating from this crappy weather. And the chickens. They love eating fern and have destroyed my maiden hair fern and a few others.

Suzanne let me know when the DD trip is taking place I'd like to go.

Carol, I'd love some of those seeds. I have some gerbera daisy seeds from my last years plants if you want some.
I enclosed my main garden from the chickens this year. They eat all my kale if I don't.

My peeps with snow cone are growing up fast. 4-Swedish Flower Hens and 2- Basque.
My Crème Legbar "Mary" is adorable and really loveable.
The bright yellow basque chick rides on mommy's back a lot. Fun to watch.
