Christina , did the little bantam from the 2nd Ideal batch end up a girl? I know I should not say this out loud but I think both of the bantams I kept are. I think one is a Belgian d'Anver , the other who knows. It's black with a rather large white ear, a messed up toe, and a slanted beak. She's a real misfit.

Ooh I love German food. Even had my wedding reception at a German restaurant. Unfortunately it was on the water and is no longer (like my marriage) it got washed away. Haha.

Hi all.
My P.Rock is still broody. Im thinking of stuffing some fertile eggs under her. Do I have to seperate her? I'd rather just leave her where she is in the main coop. Will she protect the chicks from the other girls? Last time I separated my broody silkie, but I'm just feeling lazy.

I could run an experiment. Stick cream legbar eggs under her and remove just the girls when they hatch. That way if the hens kill the baby Roo's no big loss. But then I'm stuck brooding the girls myself :(
I need 2 boody's Aghhhh!!!

One of my dearest friends is visiting from Florida with her husband (her son's wedding is today). Last night we had dinner with them, and another couple. We had such a great time! I can't wait for the wedding later this afternoon. It should be awesome.

It made me realize this morning the true nature of friendship, and how Steve (the nutjob I just had the fight with) is so out of touch with what that really means. I'm so grateful to have that toxic person out of my world.

Little Pauline spent some time cuddling with me yesterday. She's growing like a weed. How could she not be? All she does is eat. I think I'll put her out in the brooding pen for awhile today and see how it goes. It's windy, but not raining and the temps are supposed to be warmer.

Has anyone ever been on the "the-chicken-chick.com" website? If not you should check it out.

The Chicken Chick is a great website with a wealth of information. She just lost a hen a few days ago to a coyote. It happened right behind her about 10 feet away. So sad. She then wrote about supervised free-ranging. She has many articles and also has a blog. Absolutely, check it out!

Good for you Suzanne.

It is bringing down small branches in my yard it's so windy here. thank goodness the sun came out. I got more planting done. A beach walk later if possible. The sun feels really good.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!
And for all you vets and those with loved one on active duty I thank you for your service.
