Overwhelming cuteness!! They so totally adore you!!

My chickens are some sort of mixed breeds. (If you have any suggestions as to what breeds - let me know!) I have no idea how old either, except that they are still not old enough to be laying yet! These are my mystery chickens.

The top 4 pictures look to be Black Copper Marans. They will lay dark chocolate brown eggs. Lovely babies. The last picture, I'm not sure, but maybe an EE (easter egger) mix. Blue or green eggs from her! Oh they look so sweet! Enjoy them!

Welcome Wolf. You'll find a great group of people here. I'm in East Islip.
I think the 2 very dark hens are copper Marans also.
Good luck and welcome

Wow! I just looked up Black Copper Marans and they really do look exactly like them! I guess once they start producing, the color of those eggs may be the tell-tale sign!! Thank you so much!! This is the pic I just found:

Good morning! I just signed up on this site yesterday and found this thread today. I live in Deer Park. It's nice to see so many other Long Islanders! Just got my first chickens less than a week ago.

I'm Suzanne and I'm in Huntington. This is a great bunch of chicken peeps!

(But of course we WILL need to see pictures of your chickens...)

Rosie, Laura got a serious ear infection from the dunk tank at the Fireman's Fair, as did another two of her fellow FFs. Ear plugs!!!!

As a sort of a last minute thing, Bobby and I drove to Lambertville NJ to the Golden Nugget Flea Market. He went walking stick crazy, but I only got a couple of things. And a slight sunburn. It was a beautiful day to be out.

It's official, though. I HATE driving to NJ. We need to find a new flea market closer to home...

Everything seems okay with the girls. Pauline is keeping to herself in the run, and the other girls are free-ranging. The Jersey Girls came into the run and did a little chasing, but Pauline knows where to get away from them, so they gave up. They seem to have their routine established. Whew.

Looking forward to not working tomorrow. I'm going to have breakfast with my friend Kelly instead.
