Sally I can ship it to you if you want to pm me your address. Just be careful about the Corid. It is NOT an antibiotic. It is only an antagonist to help build up immunity to the cocci. If the cocci are too abundant in the gut it may not work. Keep a close eye on them, if they don't seem to be doing any better in the next few days I can send you out some antibiotics.
But that is in the kit, you may just get it now for safetys sake. Let me know.

I want to do the North Fork Hen House Tour, but the Strawberry Festival is going on and I think the traffic will be a killer.
Question...my chickens don't roost, they snuggle together on the floor of the coop. They were hatched mid march. Is this normal young hen behavior?

How high is the perch off the ground ? Do they have a means to get to it without jumping up on to it?
I made a small removable one with a 2 x4 and 2 small blocks of wood for feet for my young girls in the transition house.they used it at first but have now started roosting on the permanent one.they were born April 1st. Hope this helps.good luck.
You could also try just putting them on it at night after they have all settled in for good.

lalany, I bet you're right about the traffic on the North Fork this weekend. But, I've just got to do the Hen House Tour, I'm too "chicken nosy" not to!

thanks for asking queen, I hesitate every morning now. They are all there. Yesterday it was looking really bad I got the corid and just started dosing everyone. Today so far everyone looks slightly better. I honestly didn't expect my last EE to make it through the night but she is there this morning. Yesterday I was headed out to get the corid and I noticed everyones color looked pretty weak. I am hoping with the seven day treatment that everyone will recover.

Thanks again for all your insight and Roberta I will be headed to long island later in the summer, if the offer still stands I will be buying the first aid kit from you. I would so much rather be prepared then have to drive like mad after searching for a medication.

I'm sorry you lost 2 girls :(
I hope the others get better soon. Hugs

My Cochin decided yesterday, after 2 weeks, she no longer wants to sit on her eggs. I heard her screaming so I went outside and let her out of her pen she made a huge poop then ran off with flock. 30 min later she still didn't return to her nest so I put the eggs in my bator. A few days ago my BO went broody so I still have 3 girls sitting on eggs. Im keeping my eye on the Cochin in case she changes her mind and want her eggs back. Silly girls.

i think i am going as well this saturday

Just go out super early on Saturday and have breakfast to beat the traffic.
If anyone does go to the tour please be very careful. Go to cvs or micheals and buy a cheap pair of flip flops. Do not go back onto your propery with them.throw them in the garbage.i would even be stripping down and putting my clothes in a bag before I go back into my house. Showering goes without saying. Sorry OCD microbiologist. You do not want to bring anything home to your girls.

I feel like I live in Seattle without the needle. The girls are being real troopers with all this terrible weather. I feel bad for them.

I hear you on feeling like we live in Seattle.
My back yard is just so squishy. Ick. My girls don't seem to care, I think they are getting fat on earthworms. Less then a week until eggs start harching. I hope we dry out by then.
