We lost two of ours yesterday. I'm thinking it was the heat.

2 CL chicks got through a hole in the fence into my neighbors yard. Spent 30 min trying to catch them when finally they went back through the hole into my yard and back to mom. UGH. Thinking of keeping them locked up in the puppy pen from now on. They are getting too adventurous.

The histopath and labs still aren't back from my little polish I lost last week.my husband said he really didn't find anything when he posted her. More than likely it was the heat.

My new baby chicks were two weeks yesterday. My Red Rangers are getting so big very fast compared to the Barred Rocks I got. The weather as you know has been hot and the chicks appear to love being outside. I am thinking they are close to ready to be full time outside.

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday. We decided not to go camping this week, since my daughter has come down with tonsillitis AND strep throat.

There's just no sense dragging her into the woods while she's miserable, and if it rains-everyone is inside and bothering her. It's fine. I still hold out hope to get Hither Hills again in August, and we have a Smiths point site for September.

So I think my Chocolate Turkey poult, Soprano , is a boy. He was doing the strut yesterday-a little miniature version, it was SO CUTE! Fortunately, I can keep a boy turkey, so it's all good. Hopefully Montana will turn out to be a girl, and I can get some babies!

Danny and I are doing a motorcycle ride today to benefit Mather Hospital's Fortunato Breast Health center. It starts in Farmingdale at the airport and ends at the Great South Bay Music Festival in patchogue. Should be fun-I WAY prefer "rides" as opposed to just going somewhere alone on the bike. There's safety in large groups with police escorts...

My tomatoes are coming in like crazy with all the hot weather, and we just ate my first cucumber yesterday-it was HUGE! There's another that should be ready by wednesday.

My son came home friday with a fever...isn't complaining or anything but every six hours his fever comes back until I give him motrin.. I woke up this morning and it hurts swallow

I swear the kids in Pre-K lick each other and the floors. Anyways I got 2 chicks

, I have left the other eggs and decided since they don't smell I will leave them be for one or two more days. Today would be day 22 so I figure if nothing by 24 then I will toss them. I suck in the scientific discovery department and refuse to open the eggs for fear of crying if I see a little dead baby chick.
Either way I want to carry these two to the supermarket with me because they are just the cutest little balls of fluff.





I don't know which one of you ladies it was that I saw carrying a baby in her bra, but that is such a convenient spot ! lol I was taking them out of the incubator and just kind of tucked the one right there lol.

They're SO CUTE!!! Good luck with them! Yes, I think it was Suzanne that had a chick bag to wear for her singleton, Lavinia. She crocheted it herself. A few others put them in their bras as well. I'm not sure I'd have room in mine.
