they are Easter Eggers ...my husband has a new best friend in the house....the little black one with the feathered feet cheeps until he comes over and picks it up and cuddles it...or just talks to it . They are both so cute...he decided to build them their own box today but just as he cut the first pieces it started to rain. At least its cooler now.

Hatching day here. I set 40 eggs for my cousin. looks like about 1/2 will hatch. Not bad considering some were almost 10 days old when we set them. None of the ameraucana's eggs hatched at all. Got to be something wrong with them (same as the ones under the broodies). They are all so cute, glad they are leaving on Friday though. I just broke down and cleaned all the brooders.

He'll be able to roost with the girls? I may pick him up next Tuesday. This weekend is going to be crazy.
We have an MDA event on Saturday and the older son is leaving for sleep away camp on Sunday.

Hi everyone. I haven't been on here in awhile. Been so busy. Anyway, My little bantam layed her first eggs last week. Still waiting for my 2 leghorns and 2 Rhode Island Reds to lay.
i am planning a short trip upstate to the Rocking Horse Ranch the week of labor day. I was wondering if any of you near the Mastic/Shirley area might be willing to help me out and look in
on my chicks. I would be willing to compensate you of course. I could probably get a neighbor to do it, but I would rather someone who knows something about chickens. I'm only going away for 3 days (2 nights) Thanks

Had the pleasure of spending some time with Roberta last weekend. So glad she made it over for a couple hours. :<) nice sharing info with other peep people.
Nothing exciting going on here. Girls faired well during the heat thankfully and today it is actually COOL and breezy. we are loving every minute of it.
