Oh wow. Is Stormville this weekend? We LOVE Stormville. Time to rearrange some plans!

Sat and Sun Oct. 8th and 9th, We will be going Sat. Al my wife got three xlarge pumpkins but the chickens don't get them until after halloween.

After they couldn't get their head any further into the hole we split the pumpkin open. They really ripped into the two halves. I got the pumpkin for $4 so it wasn't too bad a price.

If we go to Stormville it will be on Sunday. I'm looking at all the projects around here and wondering if I have to complete them this weekend. Will be working on Saturday, so Sunday will be the only day I can finish up around the yard, or go to Stormville. Would have been great to meet some of you

It's like trying to complete a race around here before winter. The days are short, so after work it's too dark to anything outside, and soon enough the leaves are going to fall and I'll be raking and mulching. Plus, my sinuses are killing me and I can't wait for a hard frost. Being off today I hardly got much done.

Okay, enough griping from me...Until the next time. LOL.

PEOPLE CALL ME THE SILKIE LADY. I WANT TO GET *LICHICK* ON MY LICENSE PLATE. I AM ANNOYED THAT WHEN MY SON HELPING ME WITH THE COMPUTER PUT ME AS LiCHICK. PEOPLE THINK ITS FOR LITTLE CHICK. IT FIGURES THAT I INCUBATED ALL SPRING WITH REALLY BAD HATCH RATE AND TRY ONE MORE TIME AND 40 OUT OF 41 HATCH. I SOLD ALL BUT A FEW THAT I AM KEEPING FOR MYSELF SO I WAS AT HARVEST PRIDED LAST WEEK FOR CHICK FEED. THEY ONLY HAD CHICK MEAL WHICH I WILL NEVER GET AGAIN. CHICKS GET THEIR FEET WET FROM WATER AND THEN GO IN THE FOOD. AFTER A DAY OF THAT THEY WALK AROUND WITH THESE BIG FEET WHICH I ONE AT A TIME HAVE TO RINSE/PRY OFF SO IT DOESNT GIVE THEM WALKING PROBLEMS. ONLY 30 LBS LEFT UNTIL ITS FINISHED. REAL FUN!

Yes, this mud, and that meal= BIG mess. I just spent the last hour looking for 2 silkies, disappeared. Don't know if the hawk got them, or someone helped themselves to them.
One black, one blue, both ABA tagged...
Last time the hawk ate one, I found the pile of feathers. Not tonight. GRR.
And of course, I just sent in entries to show in NJ Oct 22.
I guess the rest are going to live in the house. Too cute to lose!

LI chick - would it help to mix the meal into the feed to get rid of it? I do that when changing dog food. Meal mud. What a concept!

I think we're gonna head to Stormville on Saturday. I work on Sundays.

I am SOO going to give Gladys a pumpkin! (Even though she hates me and won't go in her coop...)

Roberta, sorry to hear you may have lost two silkies. Hopefully they are somewhere safe for the night and will return tomorrow.

Thanks, Al. Usually if it's a silkie, they are gone. They can't fly, or roost high, so if they come up missing, that's it. They aren't known for brains, so as far as hiding somewhare, I'd be amazed if they showed up again.
Oh well:(

Well worth it. We love road trips - especially to Stormville. I walked up to the DP and whispered in his ear "Stormville". That was all it took!

Hope my "Peace, Love, Chickens" bumper sticker arrives by then...
