Well, if I'm one of those crazy wives, it must be contagious. My DP is now drawing pictures of improvements to the coop. He tells all his friends about how our hen eats the bugs in the yard. It's hilarious.
Oh how I hear ya. You would think raising chickens was my DH idea. NOT
They just come along for the ride.......and all new ideas on keeping them are theirs alone. LOL
I'm slowly breaking down my denial about my coop. I simply bought a coop that's too small. But I'm out of work and don't know if I can justify buying a bigger one. Thinking of expanding the one I have, but that seems like SO much work. Would love to just buy a bigger coop.
I will have a coop to sell soon. I also need, or should I say want, a bigger coop so I can get a few more chickens in the spring.
Here's the old one (which isn't really old, we got it in August).....paid around $3000
the new one is coming from greenchickencoop.com. The Elizabeth with the bump out option. and a 15 foot run. It should be here next week!
I think I need to quit my job and build coops. That's alot of money!
But beautiful!
I am going to Sussex Co. show on Oct 22, if anyone needs anything picked up or dropped off along the way. Peter Brown (First State Vet Supply) said they will be there also, if you need "the good stuff".
Leaving from eastern Long Island EARLY Sat morning, also bringing some Marans roos for the sales cage, maybe some Silkies, too.
PM me if you need anything, Roberta
Well my wife wasn't too upset over the pumpkin. Lucky me, ya know if momma aint happy aint nobody happy. Well we hit the Stormville flea market this morning and then Fishkill farms for apples and fresh doughnuts mmmmm! Then Cut the lawn. Wow what a productive day and the weather was the best to get it all done. How was everyone's Saturday?
Got back from Stormville an hour ago and baked some chocolate chocolate chunk cookies. Tutoring client is coming in an hour for a 2-hour session. I will then pass out!
But Gladys was happy to see us, and I managed to get her into her coop without any drama. Last night was sorta ugly...
I even brought home some treats for the poor neglected puppy!
I was surprised that there wasn't a chicken booth at Stormville. Ya know, we could make some scratch (get it?) by selling bumper stickers, tshirts, etc.
