So cute!

And this is the most fabulous coop ever. (Scroll down to the picture).

My kids, and the grownups, loved the tshirt, as did my physical therapist (a/k/a torturer). I'm bringing the chicken math shirt to Atlantic City. 2+2=more works in Atlantic City too, I hope!

Question: If we use cedar siding on the outside of the coop, it shouldn't be a problem, right? The interior walls are pine and the only place the girls could come in contact with it is on the one wall where to run will attach to the coop. And it's not like it's chips or anything. It's siding. Thoughts??

On vacation for 6 days. No school, no work and no tutoring until Monday. Plenty of cash in my pocket and eggs in the fridge.

One week til the new chicks hatch!

A friend sent me this article. Thought you'd all like to read and perhaps post some comments.

I'm gonna try to go to the April 22 show in CT. Anyone from LI want to take the ride?? Lots of fun to be had, I'm sure. And plenty of chicken laughs on the way!!

We're going to HD tomorrow before leaving for AC. Gonna stock up on the next round of supplies - wood for the roosting bar, linoleum for the floor, insulation, etc. We measured everything and discuss placement of the nesting boxes, electric, etc. Yup, I had my notebook, tape measure and pencil out. Bobby looked a little scared...

Toxic, I didn't know you had ordered a bator, too.
The same offer for free eggs applies to you, too.
If you don't mind some mutts!
I would love to be able to do a test hatch before my cream legbar eggs get here in may, but I really don't know what I'd do with the chicks. I can't keep any cause I have 6 day old coming the end of may plus the 6 eggs I'm gonna hatch I'm over the limit and I don't even have a coop built yet, my two 5 week olds are living in my bedroom closet lol this a mess !!

Gunnar, did you hook up with that Sumatra breeder?
And yes, there are a few, I will find the links for you.

not yet, yet being the keyword. I am building the fence in a few weeks to keep a goat, and plan on getting some long tails (onagadori, sumatras) to keep in there too.... did i post pictures of the aviary i finished?

I left Laura in charge of locking up the chickens last night. She got home from a firefighter training class at 10:30 and left me the following message: "Those are some well-trained chickens. I just got home and went to do a head count and all six were upstairs in the coop, ready for bed." So proud of ALL my girls!

We have a beautiful room in AC, looks out over the water. No big wins yet, nor big losses either. Up with the chickens this morning, heading down to breakfast. Then a walk on the Boardwalk. (In the direction of Dunkin' Donuts!)

Still looking at chicken pix, even on vacation...
