It should have a book on how to breed chickens.
Lol. Haha. Hehe. Get it ?

Na that's more like chicken porn than chicken nerd.
Nm me I just woke up after 3 hrs sleep.

I have 4 chicks. First 2 are inside a basket inside the brooder
with the 5 ?day olds. The other 2 are still in the hatcher.
The 2 in the brooder came from light blue eggs. The 2 still in
the hatcher came from turquoise blue eggs. I want to mark
the ones from darker eggs. I bought size 5 plastic leg bands
but the ends are pointy so I'm worried about using them. I
might just put a blue dot of food color on their heads. But then
they will look silly. I don't know what to do.

I will have coffee. Go to farm meet up. More coffee.
maybe nap. Then try and figure it out.

The empty eggs STINK. Gebbus! /puke

Has anyone used plastic leg bands on chicks?
were the ends pointy and sharp? seems like a
Recipe for cut little legs. Why can't stuff be
made with quality? Geesh. Maybe I'll fuss with
them later file them or something. Wow I can't
shut up. Lol.
Ok bye

:p   ;) :D

HEY! If you haven't left for the show yet, just remember: cross-contamination rules! I.e., wear something you can wash or hose off the minute you get home to avoid getting your home flock sick.

SEE YA!!!

4 little ones. 2 more eggs to go. Will leave them in till tuesday when other eggs go in hatcher. It's only day 20 so I can still have hope. 4 is plenty though.

I put the new newborns in a basket inside the brooder with the orp chicks
I look in later and an orp is in the basket snuggling with them. So I figure
ok might as well take them out of the basket. The orps are now showing
the newborns where the water and food is. It's so funny at 5 days old
the orps think they know the way of the world and are teaching the babies.
