Quote: Both good ideas, Al. I have considered the night predator lights, but this guy is out before it is actually dark. Will they work at dusk? Unfortunately, I am not plumbed on the far side of the property where the coop is and the birds range over the whole property, so not sure if sprayers would be cost effective to install. I would need 4 scarecrow sprinklers just for the garden and coop areas where they primarily hang out. Of course, it might work well to get the !@#(@# deer out of my orchard.

They have done some serious damage this year. At least they don't seem to like the peaches.

I think the lights come on by sensor, so it would probably be right after dusk. It is a Shane you can't use the scarecrow sprinklers, though. The deer might have to become dinner to get rid of them. I've had them eat the branches of my apple trees during the winter. They loved the youngest branches. Imagine my surprise when the deer repellent I used to keep them off the apples in the fall, worked, only to have them eat the newer branches in the winter.

Karen, Happy, happy birthday! Sorry it's late.

Also, the 2nd is no good for us, have a show the next day.
23rd looks better...

Happy Belated, Karen!

I can't make it on the 2nd, my son is performing at the Ducks game. I have to see what goes on with baseball playoffs, but the 23rd would probably work.

We're heading upstate this morning, small girls are ready to go, big girls are staying with neighbor watching them. I'll check in on my phone from up there, during down time if I can.

Caleb's away until the 26th. What about Sunday July 1st? Caleb's got his church obligations, but maybe if we met at around noonish he'd be able to join us?

How does that work for everyone?

I usually work on Sundays, but with enough notice I can get the day off.

Hey Karen!

Anything yet?

It helps to know I'm not the only one on hatch watch today. I saw a little egg wiggling from the White Orpingtons and I can hear some scratching. The eggs also look slightly misshapen, so I guess they're getting ready.

Nothing from the Light Sussex yet, but they're a day behind.

Would either of these make cool tattoo's with some adjustments? Maybe it can be more tribal? I am making tee shirts with these anyway.

Oh my oh my. Put me down for this tee shirt for sure. Size large. (or a medium if the shirts run large-ish). Send it, send it. Mail, courier, or carrier pigeon. I'm in Freeport. Where are you? I could meet you halfway if I can drive there without using parkways. I'll bring money. It's my birthday on the 27th. It'll be my gift to my chicken-lovin' self. That hen design is GORGEOUS. (and she looks so much like my favorite girl, HennyPenny.)

Hi Carolyn, glad you like it. I have an australorp too named Betty who is a total mush. She is the sweetest hen I have by far. I made the design not thinking of australorps but definitely think of her every time I look at it.
