My basket of 17 eggs before setting. WOW! Red Roof Hens packed beautifully and sent me 6 extras in her special surprise package.. Only 1 broken. So now I hope to see hatch a hatch of BCM, EE, Lav. Orp, BLRW, Lav AM

Obviopusly all 17 can't go under my broody cochin so into my brower top hatch they go!
Those cm eggs sure are dark.

Lol my parents just increased the number of
chickens I can keep to 12. Now I'll need another coop.
They love the chickens. My mother makes up a dinner
plate every night for the 3 month olds, who practically
come into the house to get it every night when we are
eating. If it wasn't for the dogs they would come in for it.
Curley toes is doing well. I left the shoes off last night
but today I put them back on cause she was curling them
up, no where near as bad as to start. She stands and walks
Good in the shoes. I hope it's a she. We are all in love with
her. She cuddles and sleeps on our laps. All the Ameraucana
chicks are unbelievably sweet. Even more so than my EE.
The only hatching eggs I have left are 7 welsummers
which my dog had knocked over so I don't think they will
hatch but they are such a beautiful dark brown some with
speckles. They go in lockdown tomorrow.

My Lavinia, that's an awfully big comb for you to have! (Hatched 5/1)

For comparison, here are Lavinia and Lola together. Lola hatched 4/11. Both Orpingtons.

Lavinia is Leon, isn't she?

Meanwhile, back at the brooder, the babies are getting real feathers!

Awwww! So cute! I love the fluffy yet feathers stage! I have to agree, that is an awfully big comb. :( But who knows, right? Chipmunk still isn't crowing.... he may be a she in the end.

Maggie I love those eggs! Gorgeous color mix!
