Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Suzanne your lawn is positively radiant. It looks like it could star in a shampoo ad. Well done.

Thank you Al, that is sweet of you to post. I love miniatures.

I hope everyone has a great fathers day tomorrow.

It was a beautiful day to be outdoors today.  We took a trip to Agway, picked up hay and scratch.  They had guinea keets for $5 each.  My friend wants me to hatch guineas for her.  Much cheaper that way.  She wants like 20 of them.  Anyone know where I can get eggs?  After all the PO scrambling going on lately, I'd rather drive to pick them up.

I had all the girls out today.  The big girls were more interested in the compost pile than the lawn, and the little girls spent most of the time dust bathing in my new flower bed. grrr.  Even the babies were out in their little playpen.  I'll post pictures as soon as I motivate to get off my fat you-know-what to go find the camera.

Not feeling so happy despite a productive day in the yard.  Bobby was very quiet today.  Apparently he feels like I'm picking on him, being sarcastic, etc. because of my anger/depression over my job.  Ironically, today was the first day in a long time that I felt like joking around and he took it seriously.

I think I need some time away by myself...

I'm wondering where the Agway is that you go to? I see that your location is Huntington.

The closest one to me is the one in Hicksville. (I'm in Freeport.). It's such a tiny shop; more like a bare bones leftover shop from a deserted ghost town. Kinda cute though in a little house on the prairie general store mostly for horses and a little bit of chicken stuff kind of way.

I've never seen any live animals there; I.e., I've never seen any poultry there. So I'm wondering if you went to Hicksville Agway or is there an Agway closer to Huntington?

Actually, I had an appointment in Hampton Bays, so I went to the Agway in Riverhead. Lately, they have chicks all the time there. I go every couple of weeks. If you need anything, let me know. I can pick it up and bring it to you in Freeport. In fact, I'm heading out east again on the 30th. And I'm frequently in Baldwin visiting my mom. More so after school is out...

Happy Father's Day to all you roosters out there! Where would the Broody Moms be without you?

I'm bummed today, I don't want to have to re-home
my 2 baby boys, Mr. Speckles and Blue. Ah well
nothing I can do about it.
I have unfortunately visited that place way too often. It seems to come with the territorywhen you hatch or purchase yoing peeps..... but that makes it no less distressing. I have re-homed roosters that followed me round like a guard dog....... I'd have rather traded in "otherun-feathered folks " if ya know what I mean. Sad......just so terribly sad.........

Uou have my condolences .

Hey guys, I have decided tomorrow is Breslin Farm Bath Day, since I think I need to clip the puppy's coat a little and the chickens are looking a bit grungy. I've never actually bathed a chicken before.... any advice? Where should I do it, inside or outside? I'm not bathing them for any particular reason like mites, just that I've never done it and it seems like the weather will be nice tomorrow and a good day to try some cleaning.

I am still in denial about Chipmunk. SHE hasn't made one single crow and she should be by now, I think, if she were a he. She also doesn't have any spurs on her legs. I'll believe it when I hear it.

Sorry you have to say goodbye to your guys - maybe you can visit them in the future?
