Thank you SO much, Roberta. You are indeed the Chickens' Fairy Godmother. (Maybe mine too!!) Looking forward to seeing you again.

I tried everything, but the only way I found, was I had to make it so dark that she couldnt see the egg! also, dont know if this was it, because I did both of them at the same time, and I put 1 dozen plastic easter eggs in each nesting box, so It was a hit and miss even if she could see the eggs.....Thanks, Caleb. Congrats on the good outcome you had with your egg-eating hen. Am curious: how'd you do it?
The sun did come out around 2pm so we did a 2 hour beach walk. For the 4th week we had to mash through small oysters on the beach at maybe 8" to 12 " deep. It stinks, seaweed all over stinking and I've not seen this ever. Whats's up????? Heat? I know the Mass. lobster market is under a $2.00 per pound price.....so.. they took a week off from catching this past and next week they agree to all only catch every other day?????? Read the trends, really scary if ya ask me.
hey roberta why are you getting rid of hens? I have a farm upstate... were you dropping some hens here that I didnt know about xD lol
Chicken Drive-By!
We have a friend that's a lobsterman here where I live, he's going broke. We're getting Lobster tonight, 3.99 a pound, which is less than half what we were paying last night. It's cheaper than a good cut of steak!! (Not even the filet mignon-the sirloin is 5.99 a pound!!) I'm glad there's a surplus of lobster, but I feel bad for the folks who depend on the price of seafood.Wow, lobster prices have taken a big hit. I remember in the late 70s the wholesale price of lobster was $3 a pound. I did some commercial lobstering in the LI Sound back then. Very small scale, but it was fun. Should have done it full time. Could have made a lot of money back then.
Something is messing up the sea life and the water. The lobster got wiped out in the Sound a number of years back and they are just making a comeback. They never really pinned down what caused the kill off, as I remember.

I'm in! Looking around right now for the cheepest place to buy.I think we should all make the effort to eat so much lobster that we drive up the price again. I'm willing to do my part...![]()
