Hey, Karen, welcome back! A bunch of us are planning to go to the Jersey fair on Aug. 7 (next Tuesday). I think some others are going the 4th (Saturday). Queens Fair is 9/22-23 I think. I have to take Certification exams on the 22nd.

Shall we all meet up for breakfast at Yetters on the 7th before heading to the fair?

I'm going to check with my husband today about the car . I'm game for breakfast but I have to save room for a corn dog,fried dough, and a sausage &pepper sandwich.....yummy

How pretty................i totally agree.
Just picked a basket of string beans.....red...orange cherry tomatoes....yellow squash and another type of squash, just not sure of the name. I love mother nature at her best...... and even at her worst.

I know there's a craft fair in Rhinebeck that weekend but anything else I should know about? I love antiques, I love graveyards, I'm not opposed to a hike and I'm obviously a huge farming fan.

You may want to google the little town of Hudson for antiquing. They used to have a fabulous mexican restaurant. I haven't been there in years...

I think you are getting into apple picking season in Sept and may want to visit Greig Farms in upper Red Hook to pick your own. They are out in the boonies but have a very neat little cafe with upscale cheeses, sandwiches etc. Then go to the village of Red Hook to the ice cream shop called Holy Cow. Thats a "must visit" if you are in the area. People line up outside just to get a Flavor Burst cone...

Since you won't be far from Massachusetts... The villages of Great Barrington, Stockbridge and Lenox are clustered together. These are villages that you possibly visit all in one day. Great Barrington used to have a fantastic yarn shop and a bunch of neat specialty shops. The architecture is gorgeous with several old churches. You have to drive thru there on the way to Stockbridge which was the home of Norman Rockwell. You can visit the NR museum which is actually very nice. Once, when we visited the museum, we met the artist/author of Dynatopia who was there signing books. Stockbridge is also home to the famous, old, elegant Red Lion Inn...and Country Curtains. Then you could continue on to Lenox, the home of Tanglewood (Boston Pops), kripalu (yoga center) and Canyon Ranch (spa). I think Lee is nearby with outlet shopping....

Well, now after writing all this, I think I'm going to head there myself! Maybe this weekend...
