Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

You clamp your feet into a frame, and slowly let the table flip backwards until you're hanging upside down.
It allows your spine, and the rest of the body, to decompress.
You can leave it at an incline, you don't have to dangle from your feet.
Kind of strange at first, but works for taking all those years and pounds off of the spine and hips.
I've seen them from $100 and up, I think mine was under $200.

I'm not sure what it is. Pinched nerve or MS. What ended up working for you?
Heating pads and just lying still. (And still I'd get the spasms sometimes!) Apparently the baby was laying on the nerve. (My kids were huge, so they were laying on everything bad.)

I can't say enough good things for moist heat though. Instead of a heating pad, with my last guy, I had a sock filled with rice (plain white rice) nuked for a minute-it produces moist heat which penetrates better than dry heat. I hope it's just a plain old pinched nerve that gets better!!

I have inversion boots. Same idea, but you hang like a bat from a chin up bar. It really worked when my husband had his herniated disc.

My neighbor has the table-he has it on his front porch. He's on his feet all day (chef in a hospital) so after work he hangs for an hour or so...I have to walk past him every morning on the way to the bus stop. My little guy thinks it's the coolest thing ever.

"Look mom, Mr B is hanging around again. will he decorate it for hallowe'en?"

if he does, I'm going to trick or treat there!

My brothers and I have back trouble. (Thanks, Dad!) I find massage and stretches provide relief, although the inversion table sounds great. In fact, I'm going to see if my little brother (haha he's 43) has one. He suffers the most - he sits at a computer all day.

Personally, I use my back troubles as an excuse to go to the spa a couple of times a month!

Rosie, I think Mr. B should dress up like a vampire and "hang out" for Halloween!

Good morning all,
Heather sorry you are in such pain.i would never wish back pain on anyone. I had back surgery ~ 10 years ago. I tried everything , acupuncture worked at first. I have a TENS unit that you should ask your doctor about they are rather cheap and I use it now when I do too much in the gardens or around the yard. It's a portable unit like they use in physical therapy. You attach adhesive pads to the area and the unit sends electrical pulses to the subcutaneous nerves. I swear by it. You can buy them off amazon, but get your doctors OK first.

Heather do you know how to get in a car correctly with back pain?
After crawling down the steps backwards to get to the phone to call the surgeon I am the Queen of back pain info.
For the car- you turn so your butt is facing the seat (you are looking away from the car), put your butt in the seat then swing your feet in. Anyone that has ever had back pain should get in a car this way , and not just when their back hurts ALL the time.
Try sleeping on your back with a pillow high up under your legs.
Feel better

I don't know if I mentioned it ,butt the manage up at Stop and Shop said I could have the bails of hay after Halloween.i just checked yesterday and they are still nice and dry. He has about 20 bails we just have to take them away. Let me know if anyone wants some. We could meet up there and throw them in your car

You guys are the best. Thank you. It is nice just to not feel alone.
I am going to go get a hot water bottle and a heating pad. I may even go crazy and microwave some rice in a sock. If I can stand up of course. John took the kids to school. I married a good one I did.
