Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

We have such a bitter cold wind with this snowstorm, that I am terribly concerned for all the families who are still out of power. I wish there was something I could do to help. I just can't imagine how people are coping with a second punch from mother nature.
Carol, If I can locate some eggs, I would really like to borrow your incubator. Are you thinking of chicks or young birds for Loretta? Sensational Silkies by Blake just had two pet Sikies up for adoption, but they were taken before I could reply. I thought they might have been nice birds for Loretta. I'll keep my eyes open if any others come available.

I've been scouting craigslist since it happened and im always one step to late. Thanks for keeping an eye out.

Good morning!

I see so far we didn't have too much trouble last nite. I think I have around 3" of heavy snow on the ground and the trees. No other issues at THIS moment.

roads are clearing pretty fast and dh got into brooklyn no problems at 7am. I'm afraid to talk......
I hope the warmer air pushes through fast and gets rid of this snow. I havent had time to get my elephant ear bulbs out of the ground for winter.

Girls are afraid to walk on the snow.
I didn't get my blueberry bushes or fig wrapped. We will see next year.

So funny, my youngest girls popped out the coop to stand there looking at all that white stuff surrounding their new pen.....and hesitated for a NY Minute... before plunging into their usual feed frenzy.
I am so glad my dh built me a nice pen with a real roof so I don't have to shovel them out anymore. Phew.....that is what I call priceless. I feel spoiled.

She isn't on here much but we spoke via phone the other day and I have her number if anyone wants me to call her for them. She has a lot of "house guests " right now.

Jeanett has really nice silkies. I'm not looking for something that fancy. Need some working girls....

ohhhh.....OK. I 'm sorry....wasnt even thinking of the $. Just the breed availability. Sorry..............now I feel like crap.

Vera is hatching out Silkie chicks like a fool. Mostly Splash and Blue.
Problem is they are too young to be sexed.
[email protected] or Riverside Silkies on facebook.
She is in Wading River, but I am considering a road trip next week to drop off some Shamos to Mass.
