Oh and this is completely insane but - I was asked by a close family friend if I would be ok with them killing a chicken in my yard for a Santaria ritual. Not something you get asked everyday. What do you think? Anyone want to give me a rooster?

So far, no one has pm'd me asking for my address. I'm imagining you all driving up and down the streets of Freeport, hollering out the car windows: "Yooo Hooo, Carolyn, Where are you???????"

Although, I do remember now, that Roberta (a/k/a ChickenFairyGodmother; a/k/a Stoopid) has been to my house twice, so for sure, she knows how to get here.

I have NO clue how many of you chicken-lovin gal-pals are likely to show tomorrow. Can anyone do a quick count of probables? Adults and kids and babysitters.

I'm off to scrub the coop and make it look all purty for y'all to see.

Geez Christine I can't even imagine.... I am reading this on my phone in Homegoods (hey they're donating to Hurricane Relief). Addiction is so horrible. Robbery also horrible. Wish I could write more but as mentioned I'm on the phone keyboard. Any chance you can come to LI on Mon too?
I am not bringing my girls. I don't have a chance to talk to adults when they are with me. I am planning on bringing something to eat, and just throwing this out there, one small gift under $15. We could do a Yankee gift swap for no reason other than we all deserve a present for what we've been through in the last week. I can't really bring myself to type out my own thing but I will share on Monday. What time are you all thinking? Can I aim for 12:30 - 1:00?

All sounds good to me, I can do a $15.00 gift but I understand if not all are into it. Either way, I'm good.

I'm having major stress as it is.
In fact I just killed a rooster, gosh if I had known, I would have saved him for you

Trying to call Doc Brown, his phone is disconnected.
Now the Mareks is going to the outside birds.
I am infectious, and think I should stay out of this.

I have another roo, but want to give him another week, in case he makes a miraculous recovery.

OK; I got two pm's asking for my address and I sent a pm back with the info.
For the public board, here's what I sent in the pm minus my address and home phone number:

What to bring? I have no idea. Maybe some muffins or chocolate brownies or a cold macaroni salad?

I'm going to the supermarket later today to get some bread and rolls, some lettuce and tomatoes, and some bottles of iced tea. I'm making a dozen or more devilled eggs. (However many I've got on my kitchen counter.) I can pan fry some Nathan's hot dogs too. That ought to do us up fine. I've got lots of fresh fruit in the house. Still wish I had some idea of a head count. [QueenChick said she thought six of you would be coming.]

As to what time: someone of you said you wanted it early enough to be home again in time to meet your kids' school busses in the afternoon. So whatever time works for you all is fine with me. Husband wakes at 9:30, so no earlier than that would be best.

Roberta, just come. Forget the gifts. Heck if you can give me a rooster I'll take it. I'll keep it in the garage quarantined from the girls. I'll bring my carrier with me, just let me know.
