I'm in Titusville too! Started with two chickens... now have 12 hens. I thought chicken math wouldn't affect us- I was wrong. My girls are now known as the chicken girls.... how funny.

I am so jealous of all ya'lls multibreed flocks. Bet they are pretty, but no room for more at my house.

Off chicken subject. If you are in Palm Bay area and are interested, and have a garden, I have about 30 either yellow or bicolor tomato plants in 4 in pots that need a good home. I have room for no more, my garden is full.

Bad day in Palm Bay! During the height of this afternoons storm, neighbors dog came into my yard and started killing chickens. So far 5 are dead and 1 injured. As I was picking up dead chickens the dog came at me, so DH shot dog. Didn't kill it. Neighbor called police, police on our side. Hopefully the neighbor won't become a problem. One of my girls died while laying a soft shelled egg. Heart is broken and now I have to tell my 6 year granddaughter what happened. The chickens were bought for her.

Oh Carol, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your chickens! How tragic!! The storm must have really spooked the dog. I am glad you are ok! I am petrified of big dogs, glad your hubby was there to defend you.
Jess, how sweet of you to offer her chicks, which are adorable by the way!!
