Sparrow Ministries - 01-06-2012 Cleaning room done!

I think he would likely just pray for them. What is wrong with wanting to share good things with others? He's not forcing anything, but he is inspiring many people to stop being selfish and share. Regardless of the religious perspective, this is good and from the heart. It's eggs, in a package that states his beliefs, but it's eggs, not the package, that these people are needing the most. If they get something from the package it is only because they were open to recieving it to start with. Otherwise, it's still just an egg carton

No different than selling eggs with a printed business logo on the carton. He's just advertising his heartfelt purpose

That's my opinion.

I realize there are those who would disagree, but I hope Mike doesn't listen. Many years ago a co-worker who was a friend of mine got in my face after showing my in his bible where Jesus said to Nicodemus "You must be born again. What he screamed at me was "your an adulterer and a fornicator". Up until that time many had spoken to me before but none told me I had to be born again and none so bold and honest. Today I've been married 33 yrs. never been unfaithful, attend church regularly. Don't use drugs or shoplift or do the things I did before I prayed the sinners prayer. Gods still working on the minor details. There's not enough time to say all of what God has done but I've never regretted my spiritual rebirth. As I said to my mother, you know what I was like before how can you say this is not God? Then she prayed the sinners prayer. Don't let them discourage you Mike. Where would I be if my friend Mark had?

I respect that we all have our own beliefs..lets respect this guys thread. Hes doing a great, kind thing for people in need. And i say thank you to him for it. If we dont agree with his beliefs...lets just leave his thread in peace and not ruin a good thing for him and others. Thanks guys!

When you go to an event which is sponsored by Coke (or Pepsi if you are inclined for Pepsi), you get their printed material plastered all over whatever you get for free as well as posters advertising their wares. They have the full rights to do what they please and no one complains.

When my kid's friends come over to play and eat my food, they play by my house rules. No violence and swearing and be a good citizen. I have that right to apply those rules in my house and no parents complain.

Mike has the freedom to do what he likes with his property, if he chooses to put on a message of hope, more power to him. That is his right, he could have just chosen to sell the eggs for a profit instead, but he choose to feed the hungry. His property, his rules.

I suppose you can ask your local politician to start an egg program if you desire, but I have yet to see any government program do anything on budget without cost overruns. Sorry, those government eggs will cost $15 each.

More power to you Mike.

If not for Jesus, Mike would not be doing this. Whether the recipients choose to read any literature in the eggs is their choice. He is going to give them the eggs no matter what. I believe there are more of us encouraged by this than offended by it. I am sure the hungry families he has helped to feed weren't offended either. At least somebody is doing something unselfishly to help others, why would anyone want to criticize that?

I have been without internet for several days and I am somewhat disappointed that I have negative post here.

I will say my peace but I won’t participate in a verbal battle:

Jesus Christ has changed me and I have become a new person. Because of my love for Him my goals in life have changed. My purpose is to try to walk in a “Christ like” manner and I will strive for that as long as I have breath in this body. When making my deliveries I rarely say anything to new people I meet other than you are welcome to our local church however sometimes they want to talk and I’m pleased with that. I am not offensive and I am not pushy with my purpose. The Word of God is on every carton and I realize that some people won’t notice the labels at all and simply throw it in the trash or they will notice them and still throw them in the trash. I would never try to force anyone to read those Words but they are there… in front of them if they are so inclined to do so. If sharing love with people in need or elderly who are lonely is wrong then yes… we are guilty.

We do this not because we want to earn anything from God but because he has changed us and we honestly care and want to help others. Some of the people I deliver to are of the worst drinkers and partiers I know. If these people never change I will still knock on their door, hand them my hen eggs and show them someone cares.

I understand that some people will not like the idea of Sparrow Ministries. I have took great care not to offend anyone and you have a right to not even open this thread again if you feel I have. My guess is you are hurting and in search of something to fill a void in your life. Some of us understand what that is and we love you and will certainly pray for you that your hearts will be softened.

I stand firm on what I believe and nothing said here is going to hinder Sparrow Ministries.

May God Bless and keep you all…!

Mike
