It’s very inspiring to see that some of you are planning ahead working toward a goal with the hopes of producing surplus eggs for the needy. I love giving the eggs away and I am blessed more than any amount of money I could get from the sale of these eggs.

Update:
I was able to deliver 10 dozen eggs last night. The roads were still snow covered in some areas. Being my truck is 2 wheel drive part of my normal route had to be postponed but I did manage to get all 10 doz eggs in the hands of people who will use them. In a very gentle way I asked them to stop by our church and visit us sometime. One older lady always try’s her best to pay me and I always refuse. Will she ever give up? lol

Thanks to one of the local farms I have close to 10 doz more eggs still to deliver tonight if weather permits. It’s interesting to see the faces when I show up. I sometimes have enough extra eggs to go to a new house or two but I do have about 5 or so families that are on my regular route and I try to deliver them 2 doz eggs about every 10-15 days. Those families are starting to warm up to me a little but they still seem a little surprised that I keep coming back. Maybe they think it is a “phase” I am going through? Getting something for nothing, without any catch, is a strange thing to them. That’s ok… they will see that I am consistent because I really do care and I won’t go away easily. I love my poor community and look forward to serving them in the name of Jesus for a very long time.

My prayers go out to the ones of you who are trying to accomplish a similar ministry in your town. If there’s anything I can do to help you please just ask.

God Bless you!!!!

I was able to deliver the additional 10 doz eggs on Tuesday night. Since I had already delivered all the regulars this allowed me to reach out a little further and go several miles down the road to a trailer park that had many opportunities. I did run upon the first person EVER to tell me that she didn’t want the eggs and that she doesn’t like fresh eggs lol. I just said “Really”? Then wish her a nice evening and went to the next house

I also stopped by and talked to my other fresh eggs supplier and she was able to sell me 8 more doz eggs. If I can turn out a couple from my hens I might have a Sparrow Ministry record of delivering 30 doz eggs in one single week

Isn’t it exciting?!?

Please Pray for Sparrow Ministries!!

The board meetings with the hens is paying off! My production has gone from 2-3 a day to 13 yesterday!

I'll have 5 dozen to distribute by tomorrow!

And I am planning on buying some small canning jars today to fill with my latest project....HONEY! Raw and straight from the comb. I am learning the art of beekeeping and have 3 quarts right now to share along with the eggs.

God sure does make some amazing creatures, doesn't he?

Thats very cool. He sure does make amazing creatures.... We are truly Blessed!!!

If funds were availble I wanted to including a 5 pound bag of flour/cooking oil every other time I deliver eggs to the needy. Most but not all deliveries are "needy" but some are elderly that need acts of kindness which may not need the flour/oil.

We were hit with heavey snow today so I won't be delivering the last of the eggs I have till the roads clear.

Have a wonderful weekend.

A closing thought(I may add this to my egg carton Scriptures)
Philippians 4:4
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Hi Mike:

I like the idea of putting verses with the eggs. I give a lot of eggs to my church (was giving 5 dozen each Sunday till the winter slowdown) and they take care of giving them out to some of the folks who need them.

My church also ran a 'blurb' in the church newsletter regarding bringing in used egg cartons.... and I got 35+ the next week! Keep up the Lord's work!

I guess I tend to agree. I think it's great to share extra eggs with those who need them, but give them from one human being to another human being without invovling whatever religious thinking you chose to follow.

Absolutely. I know many poor people express sincere gratefulness when their helped without being preached at. Yeah, they learn to ignore it for the most part, but I feel very bad for them that they are made to feel people wouldn't help them if there wasn't some chance at manipulating their religious leanings. It's often disheartening for people who certainly don't need any more pain in their life.

Your heart is in the right place, though the method is questionable. Good luck!
