Spartacus The Welsummer Rooster

This is my 6 week old Welsummer cockerel. His name use to be Chicken Little, lol, but as he is getting older, and quite a bit bigger than his fellow 6 week old roommates, I changed his name to Spartacus. I have known since he was probably a week old that he wasn't looking like a pullet... By 2 weeks old his comb was already larger than the other chicks and turning pink. If the other babies are out of his sight, they start calling for him and he calls back to them. He hasn't attempted to crow yet... But I am waiting for that to happen soon. lol

The pics are of him from about 1 week old to today.

He is doing great! He is 4 months old today!

Oh, he's super cute!! Thanks so much for sharing. I love Welsummers. I'm enjoying watching my three teeny boys growing out into Henry the Roosters.

He must be "coming of age"... he has had a sudden growing spurt of his comb and wattles and he has more hackles coming in and his tail is suddenly getting fuller and longer. I will try to take a pic this weekend.

Yes, my entire flock is Welsummer. I love their colors, especially Henry's.

I'm looking forward to the photo. I lost my photos of Henry from his younger months last year.

I also have a Welsummer pullet, 2 Speckled Sussex, and 3 Black Australorps
