Special duck needs good home

My daughter rescued a duck (dumped domestic) at a park who had unfortunately been aggressively mated and lost all feathers on her neck and face and an eye. She cannot be returned because she is blind on one side. She has adapted well and is able to spot prey in the sky but will need to be cared for more than an ordinary backyard duck.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to find her a proper home? We have posted on Craigslist but most people just want to add to their flock. She needs a covering on her neck or shade to keep it from becoming sunburned. We have waited four months for the feathers to grow back with little luck. Maybe the next molt...

We are willing to travel a little to get her a good home. My daughter has put endless hours into getting her better and wants to see her loved.

What a sweet thing to do. It takes special people to rescue and rehabilitate a duck. Your dd needs a special award. I really don't know of a way to find her a good home other than posting here on BYC we have a rehoming thread and a buy sell trade thread.
