I just thought I was going back to bed. I'm like that, the longer I stay awake , the harder it is to go to sleep. Anyway, I have a request for the story of Something. Her damn was a black Oberhauslie goat. Something was born on Valentine's day, well night. While my then 17-18 yr old daughter and I were cleaning up after the birth, I said " she was born on Valentine's day, we should name her ... something. " True to most 17-18 yr olds, my daughter says "your going to name the goat something?" True to a sassy mother I said " yes" .
A year and a half later we were showing and something won her class. while I put the goat away ,my daughter took the papers to the Secretary and when the secretary asked what's the goats name my daughter said "Faber Chi-ro Something. " The Secretary said " yes, what? ". That went on like "Who's on first." until my daughter finally convinced the secretary ,that was the goats name. Life is good.

How's the blind thing work for you, or rather your chicken? Was she always blind?
I actually adopted her when she was 18 weeks from a family having a hard time intragating her with their older flock. I brought her home, and once she heard the sound of food and water, she came carefully trotting along, she will go for short runs with me, she is a great mom. She raised some chicks from TSC, a SLW cockerel, and a light Brahma cockerel who she kicked out list night to take my baby black sex link and ISA brown under her wings. She is pretty good at finding food and water, and lays her eggs in the box every time! If you want help from the person who raised her, I can see if they are ok coming on the thread.

That is so cool she loves her babies. Or any babies.I know now that Seven is not completely blind. She just keeps getting better. She was pecking at the paper towel to get water. She missed every time but she tried. Today she decided to drink out of the waterer like a big chick.
