Hoppy

He had a problem with his legs/feet. I think they hurt him because he really liked to be on soft stuff. He climbed o the dog bed and slept Also once when I was gone he slept on my pillow till I got home. Not sure how he got up there. When he walked he took real small steps but was kinda gimpy looking. Mostly he just hopped around if he wanted to go someplace. He died this summer.

Hoppy on the right and his best friend Hopper on the left. I named Hopper Buz when I got him but he began to think his name was Hoppy so I renamed him Hopper. When I got him he had all but one of his toes froze off. He really didnt move much at all. They stuck together like glue and cuddled up at night.

Not sure how to post in the special need chicken category but here's what I want to say:
One of our mama birds Elky was just diagnosed with tumors that may be cancerous, but she has been responding to the meds very well. We have a fundraiser for her surgery on facebook (Help Save Elky the Chicken). She is my first chicken and I will do anything to come up with the money to save her. Times are tough but she is too. We're trying to stay positive. Please send good vibes her way!!!! She's a 3 year old Rhode Island Red

(R.I.P.) Hazel, my blind buff orpington, who passed away a week ago.

She lived to be very old.

Penny, my partially blind Buff Orpington.

And Gloria, my Barred Plymouth Rock who's foot got stepped on by a horse and she still limps from it.

All 3 were rescued from a 4x4 pen with 15 other chickens in it.

'Silly' Lilly has eye/mental issues. She can't seem to see right and she can never peck anything, she pecks right before it and tilts her head to the side. She also runs with her head down and does this weird thing where she tilts her head back and jumps in the air also known as The Lilly Limbo. She's by far one of our favorite chooks.

That is so sweet of you! Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-Elky-the-Chicken/291978537486885
In
the info section of that page on the left, there is all of the info about where the donations can be made. We have a wonderful avian vet that has taken very good care of our 'handi-quack' and now our mama bird Elky so we just set it up for donations to be made directly to her office. Thank you for your help and well wishes!

I know this reply is outdated now, but I'm so sorry about your chicken having cancer. I just lost my favorite hen in January from intestinal cancer. I cried for days. It's never easy losing a pet.
