special silkie eggs hatch along- UPDATE

Quote:
I've talked to some Waterfowl breeders recently, they have had aweful hatches this year.
I'm guessing it is the weather but it isn't affecting my chicken eggs though. I've had 100% a couple weeks ago.

They are too cute!!

First time I saw them I thought there was something wrong with them. They stand so straight up and I had only been exposed to mallards and pekins.

Okay-

I was a really good girl and did not put them the incubator immediately.

I candled this morning with the following results.

One white has a weird red ring right at the edge of the air cell.

The other white has an aircell that is broken but does not move freely under the shell.

The calico eggs all candled fine.

The partridge have one with a broken air cell but does not go all the way to the end of the shell.

The buff/porcelein have one with a freely moving air cell. I mean when I say that...the air cell runs all over the egg no matter how you turn it.

Took a picture but it is still hard to see

Well here is the interesting ones:

2 BBS move freely

1 is cracked. I don't think I can save it but would like your opinions.

I don't think I can save it because if you look close it is weeping yolk. I had rather get rid of one then contaminate them all.

Here everyone is...I put in the turner but don't turn it on for at least one day. The broken but not moving freely air cell eggs have hatched for me before and I like to tell myself that this is helping those air cells "stick".

I got a shipment of some duck eggs from NJ earlier this year and they all had that.
Guess it really just depends on where the eggs come from and which mail route they go through.
