On the cracked egg, if you decide to put it in the incubator watch it very closely. It could explode and I have had my share of explodeing eggs and they aren't fun at all.
I don't think it is that hard to rupture one. We experimented here alot before I shipped eggs. We dropped boxes, kicked boxes, tried different packaging and air cells just seem to be fickle about when they decide to go on vacation all over the egg.

Did you seal it with wax and was it dripping egg white? I have waxed one that was cracked but it didn't break the inner membrane. It developed but the crack also developed a air pocket and the chick pipped into fluid and died.

Does it go all around the egg? If it does then it's a Blood Ring. I've had blood spots before and they are just dabbles in one spot.
Unless she had a hen going broody on her and Ms. Broody was sneaky and kept an egg until she finally collected it.
(I have some PQ Silkies that do that all time. They are always broody. Very sneaky little boogers too!)

Yes, I sealed it with wax but I never have had an egg dripping egg white before. Something must have ruptured the membrane hard enough for it to drip egg white.
