speckled egg - who's layin' it?

i have a 1 speckled sussex, 3 brahmas, 4 buff orpingtons, 5 barred rocks and 2 cornish hens. who's laying the speckled egg? i've been told it's a deficiency, but am getting 9 other eggs that are hard-shelled and just beautiful, so i don't think it's that.

I have two Orphintons. One is Buff and the other is a Orphington-Brahma mix. Both lay a light colored egg with some speckles on them.

One of my pullets occasionally puts speckles on her eggs. I don't think of it as a "deficiency" - more of a bonus!

I have a couple hatchery Buff Orpingtons and they both lay medium dark brown eggs with speckles on them. I really think they are pretty cool and my family loves them

I have a rir that lays speckled eggs. The eggs are brown with dark brown speckles I just firgured that's what her eggs were suppose to look like.

I have two Buff Orpingtons and they both lay lightly speckled eggs. One lays eggs with white speckles and the other lays eggs with brown speckles.

My barred rock lays brown eggs with dark red speckles.

I have one Buff Orp who sometimes lays a speckled egg. More consistently so in the later part of her laying cycle.

thanks! i get some brown eggs with freckles on a regular basis and love them. the peculiar one is the one with splashes of white white on a brown egg. i actually think it's a bonus as well!

One of my barred rock girls lays a speckled egg. She's the only one out of 11 other barred rocks. Could be one of your BR's.
