Update: My girl Pants did an amazing job with the quail Chicks. She stayed with them until day 21. I only removed them because of space, and I wanted Pants to break her brood due to molting.Thanks so much for posting this. I have a bantam cochin sitting on quail eggs who are due to hatch tomorrow. I'm nervous about how she will react to them. Your post gave a lot of insight!

Honestly I think if it was any other hen they would have moved out much earlier. She is a cochin mix, very broody and submissive.Oh wow. Mine didn’t stay that long. They start pecking on chicks as soon as the grow older and start running everywhere. What’s the secret ?![]()
