Speckled Hen-Accurite

See, Speckledhen will keep us on our toes. I'm glad I have a no tweak therostat. It's just too tempting. Oh, I forgot, got to go do the tubing thing.

Ok, ran the tubing. The water was out!

and the humidity was showing ok. UGH. Well I filled it and we're ready to go. I'll see what it is in a little bit.

I only need to let the eggs rest for about 6 hours right, and that's just to bring them up to room temp?

I am so anxious to get my eggs!! They don't get mailed until the 14th. So I am hoping either the 15th or 16th or 17th. I have heard that if they don't all get here on the same day I can keep the first ones out up to 24 hours and have them be okay. If I am gently turning them. Is that correct???

My humidity is 50% and hasn't budged in 24 hours. My probe temp hasn't budged from 100.4 either. I'm a little worried that both those numbers are a smidge too high. I know they are within normal, but geesh, that is really pushing it.

This is my plan:

I have 24 of totally solid temp/humidity so now I will turn on the turner for 24 hours and see how it affects temps/humidity or until stable/pattern identified.

Then I will move it all over to the side and see what the difference is and if it holds steady. I just can't stand the thought of giving up one little egg spot on that turner. I'm hoping that at least the monitors will stay consistent on the side so I can monitor from there.

Does this all sound good?

I'm so STUPID

I ran the tubing and filled the resevoir with water last night, and my humidity went up to 69%

I was kinda upset trying to figure out what was happening, and as I laid there in bed, it dawned on me. I FILLED THE WRONG RESEVIOR!!

I keep trying to fill the "T" and not the "C". Whew, I emptied out the "T", re-ran the tubing to the "C" and refilled. Good thing I caught that before the eggs got here.

good advice there L.C. I still need the tubing but so far my humidity is running 34% and the temp is reading 99.9. We keep our house cool and it is in the upper sixties..heat with wood heat and like it cooler.
Now I am actually getting anxious to do this. Just know that new born puppies will be keep me busy for at least the first few days and don't want hatchlings to coincide (sp)with the birth of p. So I may wait till next week and actually do this. ha ha

Ive had my eggs in since Dec. 26th so all of you are not alone, and I am new to all of this

I have afew questions for clarification. I put my water wiggler alongside my turner where there was some space. I have just been putting the water in with a cup - opening the bator, the temp only goes down a degree until it stablilzes- I have only 1 accurite in, temps run in h between 99.4-100.7 and the in and out temps only fluctuate .2 at the most. I have the Hovabator 2362N. Am I doing every thnin ok?

I regulated it for a few days before putting eggs in. Im getting ready to candle- I have a slide projector that you put the turrning trays on- How do I set that up to candle?

I ran some tubing up through one of the vent holes and through the wire floor and into the "C" resevior so I can add water without opening the bator, and without moving the egg turner.

A lot of us. (like I've ever been successful

) put that rubbery shelving liner on the wire floor, so that the chicks don't hatch on a wire floor, and I'd think it would keep the eggs from getting banged aroudn when they get going. It also lets the air though and such.
