Please help. I have two feed store speckled Sussex - one has more white speckles that I think is female and the other has more red neck feathers which is the one I am suspicious of. They are coming up to 6 months old, bought around September. I am concerned the red neck feathered one is a roo as it is having some mounting behaviors and there are some maybe Bigger bumps where the spurs might potentially be? There were some tail feather pecking a month ago in a cold snap when they had to be kept in the coop so tail feathers may be less than what is expected. All I have left to check is crowing.. which I have not heard yet.. and don’t really prefer to wait unless necessary. please help. I’ve attached several photos. I hope I am just over thinking it.

I'm going out on a limb here, I'm not an expert, but I think you have two cockerals, sorry. Pointy saddle feathers on the lighter one. Can't clearly see the saddle on the darker one, but that comb is very large compared to my Sussex hens.

The dark red one with the big comb and wattles, def male. I think the other is a pullet. Small comb/ wattles, different stance.
