Ok, I saw my big boy Speckled Sussex Roo breed my little Egyptian Fayoumis hen and just had to put some of those eggs in my bator. The first tiny egg hatched yesterday evening. The little chick is so tiny but a live wire. Anyway, now that she is all dried and fluffed out, I can tell that she is that dark brown color her mom was as a chick but she doesn't have the zig zaggy lines Egyptian chicks have (and no chipmunk pattern like her dad had). I was wondering if anyone knows if this cross is sex linked since the Egyptians are barred? Is the chick a 'she' since no white marks? I'll try to take some pictures later. Thanks!
