I'm not really sure how much he weighs, but I'm thinking he has to be close to 14 lb or so.

Did you give him his treat last night Cyn? You know I promised him you would.

Yes, he got scrambled egg. The problem is that he wants to feed it to his girls, from whom he is separated at the moment. Such a selfless boy!

aaawwwww How are his new babies doing? Why is he all alone, is he okay?

Well, Mr. Stud-Muffin is just fine. Two of his three women, the two smaller ones, were a bit injured by the big guy. First, Smoky has a huge hole ripped in her side. Not sure how long it was like that before we found it, but she was separated to heal. Then when Dusty got over her motherhood stint, she went back in with Suede and Skye. We had already cut aboutg 3/4" off his spurs and rounded them off, but she had rips in both sides within a couple days of being back with him. So, she was then separated and partially-healed Smoky went back in with Skye and Suede was put in the broody pen (or naughty-pen, LOL). So, he will have to have more spur and toenail work done and the two younger girls must have saddles, then he can be back with his ladies. He's been separated about a week now. I feel so sorry for him!

Oh my gosh he's SO deprived!

He's really not an aggressive mater at all, but his size is a real issue. Skye, who is my larger hen, doesn't even have feather damage. She is much fluffier and bigger overall than the two younger girls, plus she runs most of the time rather than submit. I just need a few more saddles for all my girls, but I think I have two for Dusty and Smoky. Suede needs BIG women, LOL.

I hear ya there. He IS a big boy.


I think it's funny though that he's in the broody pen and gettin scrambled eggs and treats...so much for the "naughty" corner.
