Speeding it up (What I have personally found is working for me)

I run Chrome and with AdBlock this is what I did to speed things up.

• 1 - I took out the Right Hand "Recent Reviewed" bar.
• 2 - Took out the "Recent Discussion, Reviews, and Articles" bar at the bottom of the page.
• 3 - Took out the BYC Chicken at the top Left Hand side of the page.
• 4 - Took out the Blue Header Bar at the top of the page.
• 5 - Took out the "Current Viewing" bar at the Right Hand side.
• 6 - Closed out Internet.
• 7 - Ran a Clean Up.
• 8 - Ran a Defrag.


Remember the more of the BYC stuff that you have running the slower you computer is going to run because your processor is running hard to process it all. By eliminating some of the fancy stuff the result is a much faster BYC.

I must admit I have never used Chrome before (until now) and I am quite impressed...a bit of a learning curve but everything is...The site is now much
much faster (use cable) Now to find a way too import bookmarks..........

Kind of sad that I have to disable features of my browser just to use this site. Or I have to switch from a familiar browser to a new one, because other wise the site loads too slowly. I'm new, but struggling to stay. I'll try and pull out the information I need (hatching) and then I'm most likely done here unless the site speeds up significantly.

I use Chrome on my dial-up at work (don't judge me for not having hi-speed there, it's a LONG story)

AND, I've found that the new platform actually runs a little faster on dial-up than the old BYC, imagine that!

This platform is faster on the mac than old BYC now that we are out of the sandbox.

G4, G5, or Intel chip, Safari or FF take your pic. Faster on all of them.

As things get tweaked in the background it will also speed up. I am surprised at the comment made concerning CPU resources. This site only tweaks my old G4 at 34% CPU usage with everything on the site enabled. One more reason to use a MAC.
