Ferrets sounds pretty funny and cute. Spiders, not so much. Yeah, vet bills...
I just dropped a grand on three dogs and one cat... Our small animal vets are more pricey for physicals and vacs than the big animal vet is, go figure. I feel taken advantage of for sure. I wont get another dog, maybe keep a cat around when my two cats pass. Orphan kittens have a way of adopting people weather we like it or not, so may not be able to get out of that one, plus they are kind of like ferrets 
only chickens and horses for me now!... Well, that's what I say now. Our dogs just killed two of my chickens while I was away, again, so I am not a happy mom. Those dogs are on very thin ice and close to being gone in one way or another. I chose a productive egg producer over a expensive bad behaving mut.
