Spider Eyes!

I am also very phobic of spiders, but I have been getting better since I've gotten older. I recognize their benifits, so I try very hard to leave them alone if I find them outdoors.

Unless one is just obstinately blocking my path, I will go around and leave them in peace. However, if one gets on my person or in my house---well, they have crossed a line.

I've had some really huge black furry ones get into the house. They seriously have to go. I can't have things in there preventing me from getting from one room to the other. eeeek

I've never been afraid of spiders except for Black Widows. (bad experience as a kid. found out how far one can jump when you tease 'em with a stick)

I'm not going to hold 'em and oooh and ahhhh over 'em, I pretty much leave 'em alone. But until I moved to the South I knew what I was dealing with. NOW.........well, I keep my distance if I'm not sure. I didn't realize how many different bugs there are til coming south. HUGE BUGS!! EVERWHERE!!

I won't tell what I just found in my compost bin. And it ain't spiders.

Funnel Web spiders reside in my rosemary and other low growing vegetation. I will occasionally toss a mealworm, cricket, or cockroach into their web just to watch them take it in. Spiders really are fascinating! And the mothers usually sacrifice themselves as meals for their babies.
