I swear I wouldn’t even be asking this question if the spider in question wasn’t 3 inches big 🙄😂 I went to check on the chickens and saw a Dark Fishing Spider made use of the warm coop.. they are supposedly venomous but not to humans so I assume the same for chickens? I figure my chickens will take care of him if he manages to get too close but I just want to see if anyone has some spider knowledge of this guy because I wasn’t able to find anything! I did see though that some people had issues with brown recluse and black widows and their chickens got rid of them. I am pretty sure I am letting my own fear overwhelm me here lol I am not normally scared of spiders but if you guys would’ve seen how close I got to him before I noticed him you’d be jittery too haha. Here’s some pics of what they look like I couldn’t get a good picture of the one in my coop because he was sort of in the window ledge, he’s just so intimidating!

They way I understand it, venom only works if they get bit. And - good luck Mr. Spider in getting through those fluffy feathers.

What I have witnessed, however, is as soon as he moves, he will interesting to the hens, and they will enjoy a lovely spider snack.
