Yesterday I was looking under trash for crickets, and I saw a northern black widow. I never knew northern black widows existed, I'm so glad I didn't touch it.

National Spiders day is March, 14th.

That is a beauty. They come in all colors and sizes! They can even be brownish or redish instead of pure black. Some don't even have an hourglass.

What you have to look for is body shape, web type, and the tendency to hang upside down in dark places.

I love how they look but I wouldn't touch one. I was bit by one once, most painful three days of my life!
