Spirit - the amazing grey dewlap toulouse gander!

Okay, So after telling you guys about the geese....Well they must have thought I needede to see some more. If I only had vidoed it..it would be a goose/gander porno. :th I have now figured what I have to do to make another pen thanks to my brother. Tommarrow will be a day to move some birds to different pens to make room. Then its time to watch for a nest and eggs.

Mother nature just wont quit!!!! It is still raining and then supposed to turn very cold( in the teens and below) some time tommarrow. Of course this January thaw can't last. DH leaves for is other treatment on the 28th for PTSD and will be gone for 8 weeks. Of course he gets the vacation and I get all the work!!! That's okay come June I will be going to Wahington State for 2 weeks. Then he has to do all the work!:ya

Psue I live in Troy MO. Today It got up to 60 degrees right now it is 55 degrees. But that will soon change again after Sunday the temps will be going down again.
Yuck. Hate having to carry buckets of water when the hose freezes up.

I have sent off for those hoses that shrinks back up after you turn the water off. Bought 2 - 75' hoses. We shall see if it is easier to get the water out and roll them up and bring them inside.
Now that sounds very interesting RURU, will be looking forward to a review. I brought in just my 50' and it took up way to much room on the floor, the way my house is laid out. Where did you order them from?

That's rough on us isn't it? We are to get into high 60's today and tomorrow with sunshine which we haven't seen all week, I know it's not going to last but it sure is nice for now. Only problem with this warm spell it's making the drakes want to start hanky panky way too early.

I am sad to report that Lucky the duck injured from the dog attack 6 weeks ago died last night. She was in the straw next where she sleeps with baby, and looks to have expired in her sleep. Its a sad ending after her long struggle for recovery. She was the first hatchling of 2012. Now Baby, the recovering goose is alone. She's up a bit, but not ready for gaggle life yet.

I guess I will move my 5 little silkies in with her into her stall to keep her company. I don't know if I should put a healthy goose in with her or not. She's couldn't handle mating, and I'm not positive which of the other toulouse is the girl (but I'm guessing the one slightly smaller one).

Its very sad.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy.

Sorry I dropped off the thread for a few days. I have been fighting to keep my 13yo boxer alive. She started having grand mal seizures two days ago. Had 7 in 15 hours. We raced her to pet ER in the middle of a nightmare snowstorm, got rectal Valium doses to give her when she goes into seizures that helped us finally get past what is called a cluster episode. She started pheno barbital yesterday which is supposed to help manage seizures in the future. She is starting to get back to her usual self, although very dazed and somewhat incontinent. The ER wanted to hospitalize her because so critical to get Valium into her the instant she starts seizing, but hubby and I felt she would be better at home, so we have been taking shifts watching her, so the other can catch a nap, etc. It has been a scary nightmare. We know the end is near, but we will do whatever it takes to give her a few more good months. She is such a good girl. We are not ready to say goodbye.

ETA oh yeah.... Spirit is doing good. I need to get his appointment set up for next week to remove the last of the pins and rods, then we will be home free. :D
