Miss Lydia here is the information on the hoses I bought.

Thanks RURU I've never seen anything like this.

We unhook ours and walk the lenght to make sure all (or most) or the water is out and the hose is laying as close to down hill as possible
It works most of the time and having a hose is well worth the extra few minutes

I agree with you PSue, but that other one is intrigiing. You know what happend to our hose last week when it was all cold? DH filled goose waters pools, shut it off, and did something else. He meant to come back for it, but instead forgot. Next morning it was frozen in the top of a pool, and all along its length. He didn't get the on/off attachent tucked back into the basement either, so we were hauling plant waterers and mop buckets for water until our recent thaw.

OUCH! ours froze over night earlier... it was the only warning we needed

Marty, sorry about Lucky.

Utah, sorry about your dog. I hope the pheno barb helps. My mom's dog had to take it his whole life and he lived to be 15.

My Lab had a grand mal once and it's a terrifying experience. I'm sure you've done a lot of research about seizures so you probably know this, but the longer lasting seizures raise the body temp to dangerous levels. If that happens, you're supposed to get the dog cooled down ASAP. It's been awhile since I read the info, so I don't remember the specifics. You might want to look into that in case you need the info in the event of a long seize.

Iain,

Glad to see you. I'm awefully sorry about your sweet baby girl boxer. They are such wonderful dogs. Our adoptee dog, the big one, is part boxer (a Mastiff/Shepherd/Boxer) and he is a delite. My grandparents always had a boxer, even when my dad was a kid. I'm awefully sorry the end is approaching. Its always harder to leave a path who's beauty and discovery is one you are reluctant to lose.

Thanks for your well wishes on Lucky, everyone. It's sad to lose such a fighter, but there was nothing more I could do for her.

Thank you for the friendship and support. It is terrifying, Christine, and while we had dealt with random seizures with her before, they were always single episodes with a quick full recovery. When she kept having them every 2 hours and getting worse after effects, we were quite traumatized. I am still emotionally and physically exhausted by this, but hope we are better prepared for when it happens again... And it will happen again, as the uncofirmed diagnosis is a brain tumor, although the phenobarbital should help with them. I did not know about the body temp with extended seizures, but knew the dangers of brain damage from them, which is why it is so important to inject the Valium when there is an onset. Really really awful stuff. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. But you do what you have to do for a beloved family member, human or animal.

Marty, Bonnie is technically a white boxer-American bulldog cross that was dumped on our property almost 10 years ago. While I am a herding breed person at heart, there is something very loving and special about bully breeds. Bonnie is a special member of our family and we will make sure her final time with us is filled with attention and love, because she deserves it. Again, I am very sorry about lucky. I wish I had something better to say. :(
